Sigourney Weaver is best known for her role as Ellen Ripley in the ‘Alien’ films (I myself guilty) but after doing this post I came across some incredibly beautiful photos by photographer Helmut Newton which portray Weaver in a whole new element. The black & white portraits of the Manhattan born actress will leave you mesmerising over her unique beauty, her look is so strong and even slightly androgynous in some yet so soft and sexy in others (see below).
Born Susan Alexandra Weaver in the 40s to an actress mother and television executive father her path was laid towards the Hollywood stars before she could even speak. The name ‘Sigourney’ was taken from a minor character in F.Scott Fitzgerald’s ‘The Great Gatsby’, from the 60s onwards Susan became Sigourney. Her acting career began in the 70s and by the end of the 80s she had performed her two most memorable roles, that of ‘Ellen Ripley’ in ‘Alien’ and ‘Dian Fossey’ in ‘Gorillas in the Mist’. But lets not forget her super sexy character in ‘Ghost Busters’ opposite Bill Murray (a hero of mine), her possessed performance is one of my favourites, not to mention that amazing rust orange attire!
As for her style think big beautiful brunette locks, dark mysterious eyes and a facial structure to kill for. We love you Sigourney Weaver, forever!
I couldn’t leave out a cute pic of Ripley & Jones:
