Expert on all things bright and colourful, Hannah Bailey, is the creative genius behind Tie Dye High Five. She thought she’d do a little joint project with us at Boardmasters, here is what went down, in her own words… Oh and she also chose the winner of the creative tie dye insta comp we ran together, check out the best entries at the end of this post.

“Boardmasters always provides revellers with sun, sand and sea, but this year Cooler brought the colour teaming up with Tie Dye High Five for some fun down by the beach! Setting up shop each day right by Fistral, our stand was the place to get hands on, with hundreds of festival goers creating custom tie dyed Cooler canvas bags (amongst other white items!). With an array of fabric dyes provided by DYLON, it was the ultimate stop for DIY goodness. Aside from our tie dye action on the beach, the festival was a packed schedule of music, surf, skate, amongst a million other activities. In the sea, the women’s open surf title was a hotly contested event, with the best of the Brits in attendance. Holly Donnelly, Hannah Harding, Peony Knight and Gabi Rowe were some of the names down on the athlete list. The final was an enjoyable battle which resulted in Keshia Eyre (of Portugal) pipping the UK’s Sarah Beardmore to the post. Back on dry land and onto the wooden wave, skaters Lois Pendlebury, Becky Jacques and Stef Nurding had rolled into town to represent on the ramp. With a separate women’s comp taking place, Lois took the top spot in front of a huge crowd (which amassed around the ramp most of the day).

Up at Watergate, music filled the air for 3 full days. We headed up to the festival field to finish things off listening to the chilled closing set from Ben Howard. A perfect way to end a packed weekend.
