Worry About Leaving Your Shoes On The Beach When You Go Surfing? This Company Think They Have The Answer…

Would go Nakefit on the sand?

Every surfer knows the feeling of getting out of the water after a great session, to find that their shoes have disappeared.

Did the tide washed them away? Did a seagull fly them across the sand? Has someone decided that they want to nick your grotty old flip flops? You never find out, you just hobble over the rocks and home in bare feet and buy another pair.

This company however, thinks that they have found the answer to our flipflop woes, with their (frankly bizarre looking) sole covers, that allow  you to run around barefoot no matter if you’re going to the beach, the park, or even down a concrete street.

Nakefit (who have an unnecessary amount of women’s backsides in their adverts for a shoes company, in our opinion) make stick on soles for surfers, tough enough to protect your feet against hot sand, jagged rocks and whatever sharp objects might be left lying on the pavement as you walk you born back to the van.

They’re waterproof, cut-proof, heat-resistant, slip-proof, and come in various colors like black, if you want to keep the subtle, or bright pink, if you really don’t.

We can’t quite decide whether we believe that such a thin sole could protect us from a stray piece of glass without trying them ourselves, but online reviews are so far very complimentary, with eco conscious buyers happy also, because of the products 100 per cent vegan stance.

The product is part of a KickStarter campaign by a team of Italian designers, that was launched to raise a  €20,000 fundraising goal. With the actual amount raised now standing at over €195,000, we think we can safely assume that people are liking the idea of leaving their flip-flops at home this summer and lining up to try the sticky soles out.

They might not look particularly cool, but a sole that you can stick on in the morning and then forgot about as you have a whole day of surfing and running around at the beach sounds pretty ideal. At around £30, the first batch of these magic soles are being sent out this August. You can bet that we’ll be trying a pair on as soon as possible.
