how I would describe snowboarding to someone who’s never done it before is… snowboarding is your canvas, and you can paint on it
Olympic underdog turned gold medallist Kaitlyn Farrington has brought this little gem to our screens this week, teaming up with Giro Snow to make a life-after-the-Olympics edit.
After getting her fair share of media attention for her family’s background in cattle farming, but staying away from big time advertising endorsements, Kaitlyn is now on the path of post-Olympic freedom. In this edit she talks about how stoked she is to get out of the pipe and try some different things now the Olympics are over – and after seeing how stylish she is in the park we’re hoping to see her in some slopestyle comps this winter!
What’s really clear though is how much she loves snowboarding, opening up with, “how I would describe snowboarding to someone who’s never done it before is… snowboarding is your canvas, and you can paint on it!” which is a really nice thing to hear from someone who’s spent the best part of the past for years rigorously training, competing and trying to perfect that one run. Now that she’s got the Olympics in the bag, Kaitlyn’s set her sights on establishing herself as an all-round snowboarder as opposed to just a pipe rider, which is awesome because it would be so easy for her to stay in her comfort zone; we’re stoked that she’s taking some time to have fun, be creative and see where it takes her!
