Surviving City Madness | Find Your Urban Zen With Our New Outdoor Yoga Series

Feel worn down by the fast paced city life? We're creating a series of yoga sessions, designed just for you....

City life is both rewarding and exhausting. People who choose to live in an concrete jungle tend to be ambitious, active and self starting, but can easily get overworked, stressed and low on personal time.

When living in a city, its crucial that you give yourself the time and space to look after your body from the inside and out, as well as prioritising your wellbeing. It’s difficult to commit to a gym class three times a week, or to get out the door regularly to spend 40 minutes running around your local park, but spending a few minutes each day on moving your body and making sure you’re consuming the right stuff is crucial to your mental and physical health.

To make finding time for your fitness a little easier, we’re working with YogaCarrot founder Rebecca Bradley, to create a series of city based online yoga sessions. Focused on combatting all different aspects of urban life stress from sunrise to sunset, there’s a session in this series for all situations and all times of the day.

Staying Healthy From The Inside Out

While regular exercise is important to good health, it means nothing if you’re not backing up your training with the right nutrition.

Make sure you’re not only eating your full servings of fruit and vegetables each day to get your full nutrients, but also that you’re being clever with which you’re choosing to get the best nutrients to back up your sport.

Cherries are great for maintaining many different elements of a healthy lifestyle. As one of the few natural sources of melatonin, which is responsible for the regulation of the body’s internal clock and sleep-wake cycle and their high anthocyanin content a natural combat against heart disease. More importantly for regular activity however, they’re amazing for repairing muscle and aiding fast recovery after sport.

Start off the day with a glass of Montmorency tart cherry juice or try topping steel-cut oats with dried Montmorency tart cherries and walnuts, to help make your workouts easier and your body feel healthier.

Cityscapes Yoga Series With Rebecca Bradley

London based yogi Rebecca knows all about balancing city life with health and wellbeing, so we’ve asked her to create series of yoga sessions to manage a healthy lifestyle and maintain a stressful urban schedule.

From her energise session in front of the sunrise, finding calmer time in the day with her balance routine, having fun with the play video, taking a few minutes of calm with her grounding routine, or finally relaxing with her sunset yoga video, Rebecca has curated some amazing yoga classes to try out over the next month.

Rebecca will be at The Yoga Show later this month, so go find her to pick her brains on yoga and nutrition in the city! Not going to the show? Check back here and on our social channels over the next few days for the first video session and join us in our quest for city calm.
