In her very first year, which she also only started with a wild card, Anne-Flore Marxer won the Freeride World Tour 2011 in the category snowboard, while veteran Janette Hargin (SWE) took the skiers.

The elite of freeriding met up at the Bec des Rosses in Verbier last weekend, to take on the last battle against mountains and fellow competitors. Although part of the face were closed beforehand, there was still enough space for riders to be creative and show us the best they had in store, finding ways through the labyrinths of rocks and over the main cliff that turned out key to winning the event.

Especially the women skiers stepped it up and showed some of the highest level of riding ever seen on the FWT. Former Olympic Swedish ski racer Janette  stunned the crowd with a fluid line that included several cleanly landed cliff drops. Her incredible performance earned her the win for the Verbier Xtreme as well as the FWT 11 crown. Angel Collinson (USA), in her rookie year on the tour, took second overall and Janina Kuzma (NZL) is third.

For the snowboarders it was Anne-Flore, who is more known for her freestyle and debating skills, who rode away with the title of the prestigious finishing event as well as the overall tour. The season ranking is completed with Liz Kristoferitsch (AUT) in second and Ursula Wohlschlager (AUT) third.

The guys season ended with Aurélien Ducroz (FRA) dominating the skiers and Mitch Toelderer (AUT) finally outruling 3-times champ Xavier De Le Rue.
