The Verbier Ride 2008 offered some jaw-dropping freestyle skiing slopestyle action in the Verbier Snowpark from 18th-20th January.

International Freeski athletes threw down sick tricks to the delight of the huge crowd in Televerbier’s Snowpark, situated in the La Chaux ski area.

This year the competition was a qualifier for the European Open, which upped the stakes and encouraged some ballsy manouvres from the visiting riders. The overall winner in the men’s category was Swiss local Alex Neurohr who was turning out Switch 540 Under Flips, Switch 720 Shiftys‚ Corked 540 Shiftys, 720’s and 540 Tail Grabs with such flair that he bagged himself top place on the podium and a place at the Orage European Open in March. Top female spot went to Belgium’s Katrien Aerts who was giving the guys a run for their money with huge 360 Critical grabs, 720’s and 540’s so snag her spot in the Orage European Open.
