Oakley Jib-Vid Contest

Entries open 1st February 2008

From 26-29 March, the Jib-Vid is back, and with Oakley as title sponsor, Europe’s premier riding and filming event is guaranteed to raise the bar yet again in 2008. The Oakley Jib-Vid is relocating to Mayrhofen where the Vans Penken Park will provide the backdrop to much of this years riding and filming. With ‘all work, all play’ as the Jib-Vid ethos, there will be a poker party at Scotland Yard Bar and the Arena Sports Bar is set to host the film screenings and awards ceremony before starting up the biggest party in town.

2008 brings new challenges for the teams, amateur and professional alike, with a bigger park to play with and new terrain to discover, but storytelling and creativity are key ingredients to any winning Jib-Vid. With the competition open to all (entries are limited to 15 teams, see the website for all details) walking away with the coveted Oakley Jib-Vid title will go to any ski/snowboard/film trio that has an innovative idea and the skills to transfer it onto film.

Each team of three has 26 hours to film, edit and produce their own perfect two minute Oakley Jib-Vid, a task which generally means no sleep for most involved. The reward comes in the shape of a limited edition Oakley Jib-Vid cheque along with some great extra prizes. Combined with the great parties, a weekend full of good times is pretty much guaranteed.

Check out the event website for all the details including the schedule, entry forms and resort information. You can also listen to the Jib-Vid jukebox, where bands can upload their tunes to be used as soundtracks for the Jib-Vid films.
