The amazing project that gives war traumatized kids in Afghanistan the opportunity to roll away their sorrow needs your help to support for their skateboarding and educational activities.
Skateistan is committed to continuing their work in Afghanistan and Cambodia in 2014, but despite all the success they’ve had so far they are still dependent on your donations.
“If you feel inspired by what Skateistan does and you want to see it keep rolling, this is the perfect time to get involved and help us give skateboarding and new opportunities to children in-need.”
Founder and Executive Director, Oliver Percovich.
Skateistan has captured the imaginations of people around the world by opening four skateparks for children in places where skateboarding previously seemed impossible – Afghanistan and Cambodia. Children come for skateboarding and stay for learning. Through skateboarding, much more is possible.
During the Keep Skateistan Rolling drive in the week of July 8th-14th, Skateistan will release two videos which tell the personal story of what it’s like to be a girl skater in Cambodia and Afghanistan, through the eyes of Sreypich and Hanifa. With access to sport, girls develop leadership skills, social supports and self-confidence, which sets them up to become inspiring adult women.
