Earlier this week, with trolling all over the news, we posted about our despair at the crude and lewd comments on Alana Blanchard’s Instagram feed and asked what you thought. We’ll feature the best comments below but musing on it some more one thing we hadn’t mentioned was how many young fans Alana Blanchard must have, a few of them no doubt were watching her at the Vans US Open of Surfing last week (check the insane crowd shot below).
What must reading some of those comments make them think about the world, and what is and isn’t acceptable to post online. We almost didn’t post the story with that in mind but we think it’s important to raise these issues and remind young minds about how wrong that kind of commenting is and how no woman would appreciate that kind of sexually aggressive banter from a stranger. On similar albeit IRL lines we did also enjoy this satirical piece by The Onion titled “Woman flattered complete stranger would say something so nice about her t*ts”.
