HEAR THE SAMBA FOR THE 2014 BILLABONG RIO WOMENS PRO

Courtney Conlogue at a previous event. Unfortunately she won’t be competing because of an injury.

Move over World Cup, because the 2014 Billabong Rio Women’s Pro is hitting the beautiful beachbreak of Barra da Tijuca first, kicking off on May 7. With a $250,000 prize purse, will 2013’s champion Tyler Wright be able to defend her title? With her first heat up against Laura Enever and Alana Blanchard she may be in for a tricky ride.

Sally Fitzgibbons posted a win at Rio in 2012, and reigning two-time ASP Women’s World Champion and current ASP World No. 1 Carissa Moore won in 2011. Carissa’s had a triumphant month winning the Margaret River Pro and the Ripcurl Pro Bells Beach, so let’s see if she can score a hat-trick at Rio.
