One year ago, professional climber, AMGA-certified mountain guide, snowboarder and all round rad adventure woman Liz Daley was killed in an avalanche near the Argentinian town of Chalten.

As one of the  first professional female splitboarders, Liz was hugely inspirational. She featured in magazines, adventure blogs and regularly cropped up in videos on Cooler.

Now twelve months on, Liz’s friends and family are planning to honour her legacy by fundraising to build an adventure outdoor climbing wall in Tacoma, USA.

It’s called LizRocks – and the aim is to provide Tacoma locals with a rock climbing wall and create a safe environment for people to try out climbing and bouldering. They hope it will inspire others to live adventurously as she did.

The funds will also go towards a memorial for friends and family to visit and remember Liz.

Everyone who wants to honour Liz can either donate here or join LizRocks at a fundraising event in Seattle next month.

On September 26th,  LizRocks are holding silent and live auction, auctioning off items that will encourage people to get outdoors and get moving.

The night will also feature a ping pong tournament and food and drinks, with all money going to LizRocks.

Liz is still deeply missed by both those who knew her and the adventure community.

We think that the adventure wall and the LizRocks committee is an amazing way to honour such a rad woman and inspire others to get out into the world and pursue their passions.
