For My Hero, the regular feature that’s best read with Dave Grohl playing softly in your head, we’ve had cute and we’ve had funny and this week’s fully combines both with epic pix too. US skater Lizzie Armanto on why her buddy Allysha Bergado is the best

The person I most look up to is my best friend, Allysha Bergado*. When she was only twelve she competed in her first X Games, being the youngest competitor in the history of the event. I’ve been fortunate enough to skate around the world with her. She is able to constantly surprise me, whether it be something silly, witty, or her ability to land a trick she hasn’t tried in two years — which she did at our last contest. On the rare occasion that she slams, she always gets back up and takes it like a champ. When she wants something she works diligently until she achieves it.  She’s the best travel buddy since she is compact and highly entertaining. Allysha is one of the smartest people I know; she excels in school, has been on honour roll pretty much her whole life, and is one of those Rubik’s cube wizards. She is a borderline contortionist with her face and is able to make some of the best facial expressions you wish you never saw. She’s young, wise and a little bit crazy all at the same time and I’m thankful she is in my life.

*Technically I am always looking down at her because she is much shorter than me.
