The team at Ecosia have already planted over 5 million trees, and with the numbers of users growing at a faster rate each month, they expect that number to multiply faster and faster.
All you need to do is set Ecosia as your default homepage. The search engine works in an almost identical way to Google and brings up exactly the same results.
The most noticeable difference is a small counter in the top right hand corner for your screen. This counter keeps you updated on how many trees your searches have helped to plant.
There is no doubt about how transparent with Ecosia is with their actions, publishing a monthly report on where their money going and how it’s being used.
Ecosia is now funding reforestation in Burkina Faso, as part of the Great Green Wall project backed by the African Union and the World Bank!
