I love avocados. Who doesn’t? They are insanely good for you, full of healthy fats, rich in vitamin K, vitamin B9, vitamin B6 and more.
They help reduce the risk of heart attacks, coronary artery diseases and even cancer. Plus they are really good mushed up and spread on toast.
However, don’t you find that avocados are either too ripe or not ripe enough?
The number of times I’ve cut open an avocado I’ve just bought only to find it’s black and rotten in the middle.
However, the guys over at Northwest Edible Life have an amazing hack for finding out whether your green fruit has gone bad without opening it up first.
It’s as simple as this…
You know that little stem on the end of an avocado, pick that off…
If it’s brown, avoid! This avocado will be black inside.
Ew! See what we mean…
However, if you pick off the stem and it’s yellow underneath, you’re avocado is perfectly ripe and ready to eat.
Ta-da!
