Other leading ethical high street brands are People Tree (of Emma Watson fame), Sea Salt and Fat Face.

Interestingly, French Connection are among the worst offenders on the list, ranking badly under the environmental report and human rights. Similarly Gap and Primark are in the bottom rankings, well below the likes of Topshop and Zara.

It might surprise you that New Look are one of the best high street shops to stock organic cotton in their ranges.
