City Guide: Glasgow – How to live like a local in Scotland’s biggest city

For those sunny days, grab your board and head to the KELVINGROVE SKATEPARK in the heart of the West End. Whether you prefer cruising the newly poured concrete paths through the trees, carving up the bowls, or just watching it all unfold, be sure to head up to Kelvingrove.

If it’s SURFING you’re after, Scotland is covered with different breaks for you to get you 5mm mitts on! From Belhaven to Pease Bay on the east coast to Machrihanish and the Hebrides way out west, there is always somewhere worth dipping your toes in the water.

ReCoat

I recently stumbled across ReCoat Gallery in the West End. With Street art flourishing in Glasgow in recent years we’ve seen the rise of legal graffiti areas and even street art projects being commissioned by the council.

Recoat Gallery exhibits anything from graphic art to street art and photography. They showcase work from emerging and established Scottish artists, with different exhibits every month they also try to bring inspirational artists to Scotland from all over the world. Their annual ‘Affordable Art Show’ is an awesome place to pick up an original piece of art that won’t break the bank too.
