After much tough deliberation, blood, sweat and tears (that was just the judges!) Josh Knox has been announced as the Nike 6.0 Media Apprentice 2007…
This year’s search was inundated with a staggeringly high quality of work, with numbers of entrants tripling on last years competition, ensuring the judging was even more difficult and selection processes tough. After 3 hard fought rounds, Josh was the deserved winner.
Josh Knox, 18, from North London clinched the title with his out standing pieces of work. Judges Chris Moran, Andrew Horsley, Will Smyth and Alex Wade all commented on his smooth camera work and strong story lines running through the film clips, with his sharp photography capturing action moments beautifully.
Throughout his placement year with Nike 6.0, Josh will work alongside some of the action sports industries top professionals. From photographers, film makers and athletes, to magazine editors and publishing houses – including companies like Extreme TV, Permenant Publishing and Factory Media. He will also receive exclusive training and top of the range equipment from Adobe – official partners of the scheme.
He will experience live photo shoots, attending some of the best action sports in the world and documenting the 6.0 teams exploits – including those infamous Ill Weekends!
On his recent post, Josh says “This is a really good opportunity to improve my skills as a filmmaker and photographer and have the opportunity to work with some of the best riders in Britain. I want to progress in the film and photography arena as I want to show people the passion these athletes have for their sport. I also want to learn more on the post production side so I can make my editing outstanding.”
