Briefly describe yourself… I’m on the rocky road to pursue pure, sensational happiness, looking for fun… I never want to stop, I’m a water baby, I love my upbringing and life in Kenya – will bore anyone to death talking about it. I dont believe in love but I definitely believe in lust! I love watching Postman Pat while eating Coco Pops – something comforting about it…dunno? A little strange I suppose. Music – I love it, it’s magic! – can change my mood in an instant!
How did you get into wakeboarding? A very good friend – Ben Steppens, who I met in Fiji when travelling round the world showed me the ropes. He’s been an awsome support through all my wakeboarding experiences… can’t big him up enough!
What has been your scariest wakeboarding experience? Not being able to feel my foot in the binding after totally smashing it on trying to land a tantrum! Good times!
What’s your biggest achievement to date? Mmm… I haven’t acheived an ounce of what I want to as I’m just getting started but probably being a winner at Whirlybirds competition, and coming 3rd in the UK open nationals last summer really motivated me. Also being commented on by Louise Moore really highly pushed my confidence.
You’ve travelled loads, where’s your favourite place? Laos is one of my favorites! My experience in Nepal opened my eyes to a lot, I definitely want to live out in Oz or New Zealand for a while some time in the future but home in Kenya beats them all, I want to travel around Africa more.
What do you take with you when you travel? Now…a wakeboard… or some kind of water-toy, bikini and my boardies! I’d also quite like a beautiful and extremely funny man by my side – always helps the smile, but they are hard to find you know!
How do you stay in shape? Wakeboarding, hockey and squash are my most competitive sports. When I’m at home we live on sand dunes so the constant trekking in sand keeps me toned!! But I’ve actually been braving the gym recently…yup!….nearly every day, I want to take up boxing too!
How do you stay beautiful despite being in the water all day? Beautiful? Nah… it’s not about looking beautiful, you’ve gotta forget all that shindig when you hit the water. I believe that if you keep a big smile plastered on – that counts for a lot of ‘beauty’! And of course modesty ; )
What do you do out of the water? Eat – mainly cereal or any good meat… mmm… steak! I play hockey and squash, travel, I love to film and edit video from all walks of life, ramble about with my wacky friends, ask to be hugged a lot – I like hugs, always fill the day to the brim!
