So the seasons over and the sun…is no where to be seen! Back in the UK now after a great end to the season, the comps went great leaving me on such a high, and raring to go for next season!
The Brits were awesome this year as usual…really well organised, perfect snow, hot weather and rocking parties…a little birdie told me the ‘Animal’ party was the best though! The Ski Cross was great fun, with some nice features to test our ability and nerves! The race went well, and I managed to retain my title and win The Brits for the 3rd year on the trot, so I left a happy bunny!
Feeling great after the Brits I headed to Lienzerhiede for the Swiss National Champs, I was a little nervous with some big names from the World Cup Circuit, and the light was really flat with the bad weather, so you couldn’t see the course even with all the blue die they put down on the snow to help you differentiate the terrain. However everyone was in the same boat, so you had to just go for it in order to make all the jumps. The course was really technical catching me out in the training, crashing a few times! The heats went well and I managed to qualify 5th to the final heats. Being 5th means you get 3rd choice of the lane at the start which can often affect the race, so knowing this I had to do a great start to give myself a chance of fighting through. My starts went as planned and I managed to hold my ground and come 2nd!
So after a slow start to the season with the lack of snow, everything went well and I finished on a high! So the summer is here and I’m training hard to get fit for next season.
Enjoy your summer!
