Huff Sports, an up and coming local business, are holding an extreme sports event in Reading on Easter Sunday. With competitions, live entertainment and professional demonstrations it promises to be an action-packed day. The event will raise money for local charity, The Reading Wheels Association.
The event will be held at Hills Meadow Skate Park, Caversham, Reading, Berkshire, on April 8th, 2007. It is being held to celebrate the company?s first birthday and to raise funds and awareness for local charity The Reading Wheels Association.
The day will feature BMX, skateboarding and mountain-biking competitions, plus demonstrations from nationally renowned professional riders and skaters. In addition, there will be live entertainment from local artists Pyrokinesis, a barbeque and a range of activities for all the family. The event is being sponsored by a host of international and national companies – including Vans, Globe and The Extreme Sports Channel. That night, Huff Sports will also be hosting a sensational after-party.
A percentage of the proceeds from the event will go to local charity The Reading Wheels Association. This organisation is raising funds to build a new, state-of-the-art, indoor extreme sports and leisure facility in the Reading area. After five years of campaigning, they have recently secured a large donation and a site for the facility and need to raise awareness to generate additional funding and really get the project underway.
The event will be open to riders and skaters wanting to take part from 10am for registration and the competition will start at 12pm. The cost to enter is £5 for all categories – which are Park, High Air and Best Trick. The event is open to all ages, but parental permission will be required for under 18s.
