Earlier this year Jenny Pugh crossed the Greenland ice-cap with her all-female team, the Arctic Foxes sponsored by Flexifoil. Although unseasonable conditions meant that they had to make the entire journey (1100km) on foot the original plan was to use power kites to make the return journey.

Back in the UK and keen to promote the sport to more women, the Arctic Foxes in collaboration with Transition Kites are organising a weekend of Power Kiting taster sessions for women down in Whitstable, Kent on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December.

It is going to be a great weekend with the sessions being run by kiting instructor Andrew Fischer from Transition Kites, the Foxes will be there to offer encouragement and the Turbulence Angels girls kite surfing team will also be joining them for the weekend with more expert advice. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn to power kite, meet some other girls who are into the sport and it’s an absolute bargain at the same time! What more could you want?

The sessions are minimum donation of £10 if you pay when you book in advance, £20 if you pay on the day – all proceeds are going to Breakthrough Breast Cancer (www.breakthrough.org.uk.)
