Protest World Rookie Fest

The Protest World Rookie Fest 2009 will be kicking off in Livigno, Italy from 17-21 January.

This 3-Star Swatch TTR slopestyle event is the first big event of the WSF World Rookie Tour, the world snowboarding series for under 18s. The legendary event attracts the best young shredders from Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, North America, Asia and South and East Europe to the first chapter of the series: ‘The Conquer of the Snowboard Age’.

In addition to the contest, the Protest World Rookie Fest features a whole bunch of activities including parties, courses on environmental education, video and photo shootings, and the chance to chat to international team managers.

Over 100 participants from 15 countries will be heading to the Swatch Snowpark Mottolino in Livigno in a bid to win big. Riders will be split into two categories: Rookie and Grom, for both males and females. Participants are all strictly pre-selected in their home countries through regional qualifying heats, ensuring that only the most promising riders can take part. Prizes on offer include tickets to the Aesthetiker Wangle Tangle in Austria; invitations to the Protest World Rookie Finals in Ischgl, Austria and invites to the Protest Surf Camp in Hossegor in summer 2009.
