Prepare yourselves for the barrage of events in Europe and beyond this summer!
This summer, Rip Curl promises an explosive mix: the best surfing in the world, the most popular rock bands of the moment and all that with a real dedication to respect these mythical spots. It all begins in April with the Rip Curl Pro in Peniche that is celebrating its 20th edition this year. It’s the oldest EPSA contest and the first European WQS of the season….the GromSearch. All the top Europeans will be there.
Next stop: Newquay for the biggest boardsports event in Europe – the Rip Curl Boardmasters. For the past 7 years the recipe has always been: surfing (3 Star WQS Men, and 5 Star WQS Women), BMX, FMX, skate, the famous mad evenings and 2 concerts that more than 20,000 people enjoy! The show will be there!
And finally, the Rip Curl Pro in Hossegor… After the special anniversary edition in 2006, Rip Curl has a lot to live up to. The Super Series welcomes back the best surfers on the planet who have come to fight for the most prestigious WQS on the circuit. The Pro Junior 4 Star event will be back to entertain us with the top under 21 young surfers as well as rock bands that are going to heat things up in Europe.
Surf, rock, girls… the very essence of the surfing lifestyle! Rip Curl’s aim is to be as eco-friendly as possible. Conserving energy throughout the whole event, merchandise made from organic cotton, recycling, organic meals, a Planet Night evening… and as much extra as Rip Curl can fit in from April onwards.
Still going strong after 5 years and with more than 5 000 girls joined up, the Rip Curl Girls Tour and the Rip Curl Venus Tour are off again to the best spots in Europe. From the 16th July the Rip Curl team is offering the girls the chance to learn to surf. But not only just surf! They can relax with yoga lessons, do headstands on a tandem board, stand up on a short board or discover the feeling of riding in a Hawaiian outrigger canoe.
In September, the Rip Curls Girls Festival (Santander/Liencres – Spain) will be the Women’s event of the summer. The Pros will be on Liencres beach for the first time. On the schedule: the unique European WCT with the top 16 women surfers in the world, a world tour contest of surf tandem and a Pro Junior with the European hopes. For the animations, demos, initiations and 2 nights of concerts just to the girls put the beach on fire!
The most prestigious contests of the DREAM TOUR
Beginning in April with the oldest contest around that is celebrating its 35 year: the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach. There will be concerts, the cream of world surfing (male and female) and a special atmosphere in a legendary spot of the world….the Bells Beach Rip Curl Pro definitely remains the unmissable start of the season event.
The Hottest event on Tour. You may remember Mexico, the spot in La Jolla? Rip Curl brought you the biggest show of the season 2006! The top 44 surfers on the WCT found themselves face-to-face with a perfect right. Rip Curl brings you the same thing this year but this time in Chile, in the Arica region.
