Snowbombing’s 10th Anniversary is coming up in 2009, so get the date in your diary quick!
The madness begins on Sunday 29th March and will run through til 4th April in Mayrhofen, Austria. The week long festival promises the usual blend of musical mayhem and snowcapped adventures in the idyllic Austrian village.
The planning is already in progress for the epic 10th birthday celebrations, with fingers crossed for a blissful week of both snow and sunshine, with huge dumps of powder followed by blue skies. The perfect picturesque party platform!
For those unlucky enough to have missed the last nine Snowbombing events then you can expect seven days of musical misbehaviour and snow-capped adventures. The frosty fiesta is like no other and you can look forward to three iconic igloo parties at the top of the mountains in the middle of night with 300 like-minded shredders, a fancy dress street party hosted by The Cuban Brothers, the hidden forest clearing which last year played host to an event defining set from Madness, or the back country party in the forgotten valley that can be found through a wild forest, past the waterfall and across the snowfields where a 200 year old wooden farmstead plays host to a traditional and unforgettable night of Austrian food, drink and games.
The world’s biggest live acts and artists will be playing across seven unique venues. Previous years have seen Madness, Foals, Dirty Pretty Things, The Pigeon Detectives, The Whip, Does It Offend You, Yeah, Calvin Harris, Young Knives, The Enemy, SMD, Stanton Warriors, Annie Mac, Rob Da Bank and Scratch Perverts join the party.
Add to this the legendary ‘King of the Mountain’ new band competition, the Highway To Hell comp that sees pro-boarders competing in games including Pimp My Ride, Snow Basket Ball and other typically Snowbombing challenges there’s room for the more adventurous among you. Or if sipping wine atop a sun-drenched plateau outside an igloo watching a snowball fight is more your scene, then you are more than catered for too.
