The Swatch Freeride World Tour by the North Face kicks off in Revelstoke this weekend, January 6th 2013 and while we’re stoked to see the likes of Margot Rozies, Aline Bock, Eva Walkner, Christine Hargin and many more braving some of the steepest faces of the world again, we also dearly hope that the event and tour organisers have taken the complaints by Anne-Flore Marxer, Ane Enderud & co to their hearts and improved the conditions for the female riders.
The official press release doesn’t indicate much, but with the live stream on live.mpora.com we’ll all be able to see for ourselves!
Revelstoke Mountain Resort and its “Mac Daddy” face is an ideal location for the first stop of the 2013 FWT with its remote backcountry terrain, allowing for an exciting North American freeriding venue. “The snow conditions are setting up perfectly at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. With over 200 inches of total snowfall so far, the best case scenarios for the biggest, baddest North American venues are coming into play,” stated FWT Americas Competition Director Bryan Barlow.
