Name: Gilly Seagrave
Age: 28

Sponsors: Protest, Atomic, Adidas, eka, Crackho and Extreme Sports World (UK shop).
Describe yourself: Company owner of eka (www.ekawear.com) and Our Camp (www.ourcamp.co.uk), snowboarder and girlfriend to Nils. I don’t have much time for hobbies really but I like art and surfing.
Talk us through your average day… If there is powder we ride all we can find until it is tracked, but on any other day we go to one of the parks in the ‘Portes de Soleil’ area, usually the small park to warm up then over to the Croset park after that, we ride the park all day and learn new tricks or try to perfect ones we are working on, maybe take the ones we know to bigger jumps or rails, then home about 4pm. Have some food, check emails at the local wifi bar and then home to eat dinner, we watch loads of downloaded series, this winter it was ‘Prison Break’, ‘Lost’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ I don’t really go out to bars, I don’t have money to spend on that and I can’t handle my booze to it’s best I stay away from it really!
How long have you been riding? 10 years
Best achievement: UK Slopestyle champion ’03
Best trick: fs 3 stalefish or bs 1 japan
Biggest rush: Landing a new trick – nothing better, especially if you land it again your next try!
Scariest moment: Whenever I invest money in eka stock, I hate to gamble so business is pretty scary for me!
Favourite riders: My friends: Emma Rogers, Jenny Jones and Sonia shaw. Favourite riders to watch – Nataza Zurek, Kjersti Buaas, Cheryl Mass.
Favourite place to ride and why: Les Croset, I love it, good times. And I had a brilliant day in Mount Seymore, Vancouver once, it was more about the timing and the people I was with – Nils and my sister Jane, I don’t know if I thought it was particularly awesome at the time, but I remember that day most from the whole years riding.
What essential items do you pack in your suitcase for a trip? Sketchbook and pen. Multi Vitamins (i’m veggie, so these are a necessity when travelling). Crochet hook and wool. My iBook and my iPod.
Top 3 tunes: Can I have 4 please?? I hate doing this, I have so many favourites and hate it if I listen to something later that I wish I’d put in the list! I’ll go for: Phoenix- If I Ever Feel Better; Tegan and Sara- Walking with a Ghost; The Shins- New Slang and This Mortal Coil- You and Your Sister.
How do you stay in shape? Some yoga, some stress and cycling/surfing/working out sporadically.
Top training tip: Listen to your body, if you have pain then concentrate on getting that area stronger and stretch to ease strain.
Favourite foods: Bulgar wheat salad. Chocolate and bread, and iced donuts from the ‘bakers oven’.
Must-have beauty product: Superdrug tea tree oil face scrub (Superdrug don’t test on animals).
Beauty tip: Always wear sunblock on your face. Never expose the skin around the eyes to the sun (wear sunglasses or goggles).
Favourite clothing brands: For snowboarding gear, Protest. For streetwear if I had the money I would wear Balenciaga, but in the real world I wear Ninii.com, Crackho.com and ekawear.com and H&M (pieces not made in china).
Fashion tip: Don’t follow trends, go with what clothes you like and find style icons in things you are into like books and films. Don’t be afraid of wearing clothes that are different, if you love what you wear then it will look good whatever, and if it doesn’t then who cares, you love it!
Which celeb’s style do you admire? Milla Jovovich, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst.
Favourite quote: ”A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.” – Amelia Earheart
Before I die I want to: Feel I have seen experienced enough of life to be content.
