Always ready to take on incredible challenges, Rip Curl is organising two never-done-before trips to two unknown destinations, and the best news is that they are inviting four amateur riders to go along with the Rip Curl team to share the experience…
The snow challenge will be taking place from 17th Feb until 2nd of March 2008, when four snowboarders from team Rip Curl (Darius Heristchian, Nils Arvidsson, Remi Lamazouere and Per Loken) will set off for Abkhazia, Russia, to ride the virgin powder of the Caucasus mountain range. You can apply to go on the trip by sending in videos and photos of your riding skills. The top five entries will then be taken to The Crans-Montana Champs Open in Switzerland where they will battle it out to win a place on the search trip. The two winners will then accompany the Rip Curl riders to Russia for the trip of a lifetime to ride undiscovered powder.
The surf challenge is kicking off from 5-30th April 2008, when five of the Rip Curl team surfers (Tom Curren, Romain Laulha, Jayce Robinson, Marcos San Segundo, Elise Garrigue) are setting off on an extraordinary voyage to the Lofoten Islands, Norway, in search of the most northerly waves on the planet. Send in your application for the chance to join them testing the latest eco-friendly boards and new Hbomb wetsuit, which has a fully integrated filament to heat the water surrounding the body. You’ll need it: temperatures in the Lofoten Islands can drop to –35oC!
All thrill-seeking surfers and snowboarders are invited to apply by logging on to Ripcurl.TV. You then have to get the maximum number of votes to be on the list of potential candidates, amongst whom a jury will select the lucky four to take part in this hard-core trip. Ripcurl.TV will also make it possible for everyone to follow the adventure, through online photos, videos and blogs.
