Back in June, Nikita Snowboard Clip Contest winner Kasia Kwiecień, 18, from Tychy, Poland, won a trip of a lifetime to go shredding in Iceland, courtesy of Nikita. She spent a few blissful days relaxing in geothermal seawater, caving, snorkelling, snowboarding glaciers, drinking menthol vodka and even donned a serious wetsuit to hit the Icelandic surf!

Have you always loved snowsports?
Yes I’ve always loved them! When I was three years old, my parents bought me skis and I’ve been hooked ever since.

How did you get into snowboarding?
My brother was the inspiration for me.

Where did you hear about the Nikita comp?
It was advertised on a Polish snowboarding website and a few of my friends told me about it.

What did you do for your entry?
I asked my friend if he could film me. It took about 10 days to gather all the footage, then my friend edited it into some short videos which he sent to the Nikita Crew.

How did you feel when you found out you had won?
I was really excited, both happy and shocked!

What did you think of Iceland?
It’s a great country! It is completely different from Poland. The people, views, food and outdoor activities are all great.

What did you do during the trip?
We did loads of things including surfing, snowboarding, caving, partying, eating, snorkeling, bathing in Blue Lagoon, jumping from cliffs…

Did you meet some cool people?
Yeah! I found out that people in Iceland are really outgoing, some of them are crazy and all the people from Nikita are awesome!

What were the highlights of the trip?
Chilling at the Blue Lagoon, dinner and partying at Nikita HQ. The activities in the countryside such as snowboarding, surfing and caving were all amazing. Sightseeing, checking out the picturesque locations around the Icelandic countryside and visiting an outdoor swimming pool are all great memories.
