On 23-24 June I competed at the annual UKWA Hove freewave event set amongst the Ocean Carnival Festival at Hove Lagoon Watersports and am delighted to win First Place Ladies at my home spot!

The event started on Saturday morning with plenty of wind and sunshine and so the organisers wasted no time in compiling the heats and sending the competitors out on the water.

The order of the day was freestyle and waves and I really enjoyed myself throwing a series of freestyle moves amongst small waves. We completed 3 rounds of 6 heats and I think everyone would agree it was a great day. Sadly Sunday was completely rained out and the wind was a little fickle so we agreed to hold the results from Saturday.

I’m really looking forward to doing more events this year, the next being at Eastbourne next month.
