Milton Keynes snowboarder Laura Berry (18) is to join the Red Bull Global Snow Team in 2007 after four years of outstanding achievements as part of the Red Bull junior team.
Joining the ranks of international Red Bull talents Leanne Pelosi, Travis Rice and Heikki Sorsa Laura will now be competing as part of the senior team from next year in competitions that include the TTR world tour and the British Championships.
Having notched up no less than six first place results in 2006 including the senior women’s slopestyle at the AIM Series, Milton Keynes, and senior women’s Boardercross at the Orange British Championships Laax, Laura will be looking to build on this year’s fantastic results in 2007.
A keen sportswoman from an early age, Laura was selected for the Arsenal Ladies School of Excellence age eight and held the Judo national champion title in her weight group in 2001. Having discovered snowboarding following a 12th birthday present from her Nan of a taster session at the MK Xscape day she’s never looked back. Clearly a born natural Laura’s combination of talent and personality has ensured she is already well on her way to a remarkable career as one of the world’s top female professional snowboarders.
Based in Morzine, France from December Laura’s first competition as a senior team member will be at the 2007 Chicken Jam in San Moritz.
