I am currently writing from Hunza in the Pakistani Himalayas. I’ve been here a week already, trying to acclimatise, not only to the altitude, but to the heat and the local germs which aren’t always that friendly… but I seem to have adapted now.
After a lot of hassle with various ministries and Pakistani Intelligence agencies who were hesitating with giving us security clearance (do I really look like a terrorist??), we now finally have all the right stamps on our permit and will head towards Skardu and start our expedition. The goal is to climb the 7025 meter high mountain called Spantik. The picture shows the west wall taken on our warm up trek, we will climb from the east. The expedition can be followed on www.gamme.no
