Last weekend, the participants of the VÖLKL Snowpark Rally proudly announced their “Mission accomplished!“ statement. After three online stages, where the participants had to perform several tasks and to shoot pictures fulfilling the demands of the respective mission, the finalists of this innovative photo contest had passed the last trials and the winners were determined: At the snowboarders’, the Slovenian Psyhoslo Team took victory while Team Börse from Austria triumphed at the freeskiers’.
The final mission for the snowboarders was a postcard from Leogang, which they had to complete in only two days but with the help of Völkl pros Marc-André Tarte and Quentin Robbins. Although the decision was tough, it was the Slovenians Nejc Slatner, Matej Gostincar and Jakob Pavli who could convince the jury with their mixture of old-school Method Air to up-to-date snowboard action and Leogang nostalgia – bet we would have voted for the same one, doesn’t the postcard look perfect for our “kitsch corner”?
The skiers final mission was the whole mountain is a park in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, which was dominated by the Austrians Sebastian Lutz, Philipp Tschaikner and Matthias Kuen who mugged a handplant at a snow-covered mountain hut.
After a magnificent final of the VÖLKL Snowpark Rally, Christian Reinhardt from organizers Mellow Constructions came to a more than positive conclusion: “We were really surprised about the high level of the pictures. Obviously, the Snowpark Rally has hit a nerve of the scene. And that’s why we now plan to extend our concept in the next
season centring the quality of the pictures.” For further information go to snowparkrally.com.
