Roxy’s snow line for 08/09 is a reaffirmation of its style, bringing together and revolutionising all the fashion and alpine codes to offer an instantly recognisable collection. Emphasising the 60s, 70s and 80s, with explosive colours and a generous helping of checks and tartans for a rebellious, punk-influenced look.

Treated to resist nature’s elements, wind and rain, the materials are imbued with Roxy’s technical expertise: 10000/10000, 5000/5000 and Gore-Tex.

Prep School Punk
A glam-rock theme and a nod to 80s skiing fashion: close-fitting jackets and trousers, high waist, structured cuts, Scottish and Sherlock Holmes-style tartans and hound’s tooth, very classic and reserved, are given a novel twist to produce a punkier, heavy-metal version in pop colours: green, golden-red…and rock colours: black and white.

Focus on:
– removable red Scottish micro-kilt, worn over black (technical) stretch pants
– all-in-one dungarees, printed with black and grey hound’s tooth
– Sherlock Holmes-style tartan cuffed trousers with quilted buttons
– high-waist pants, wide elastic hem and graphic braces
…Not forgetting the polka dots, a nod to the 1950s style.

Retro Fashion
Vintage theme inspired by 60s and 70s designs: oversize printed graphics, naive and floral, mixture of flannel, tweed and velvet, monochromes in green brown, khaki and yellow, precious haberdashery: gold, diamond and chain, military detail with a subtle touch. A new technique, Print Gel is used to create shiny and transparent gel effects on the Gore-Tex line, with a trompe l’œil effect for a sports fashion look.

Signature Line
The cut, the fabric, the buttons, the finish, nothing is left to chance for the line inspired by the Team Roxy riders, Torah Bright, TTR World Tour Champion and Kjersti Buaas, medalist at the last Olympics in Torino. A Victorian-style printed jacket with velvet flock and quilting lined with shiny studs, and low-waist trousers, with baroque embroidery on the back for the “Torah Bright” look. A veritable Napoleonic outfit and overcoat with a rounded cut, gold coins for buttons, baggy trousers with pleats, retro belt, gold chains on the back pockets, for the “Kjersti Buaas” look. The “technical” jackets are equipped with lycra and press studs that can be attached to the trousers to make the ensemble fully watertight.

Eco-Friendly
Made of hemp (55%) and recycled polyester (45%) with recycled and recyclable trims, Roxy presents for fall winter 2008 09 a new ecological snowwear line : «Amber» (picture), «Pearl» and «Jet» : two jackets and one pant. Hemp is a biological fiber cultivated with natural compost and fertilizer and without any pesticides. It doesn’t need irrigation and the harvest is made by hand. This fabric is one of the most resistant in the world with a beautiful linen aspect.
Recycled polyester fabric is taken from plastic water bottles. This enables to reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions, save energy, reduce emissions of air and water pollution and conserve natural resources. The Schoeller Switzerland Bluesign treatment is approved «nanosphere » DWR treatment, which is free of fluorocarbons and non toxic. Nanonsphere lasts over 70 washes and completely coats all fibers with tiny particles of silica (made from finely ground sand). This treatment effectively makes the woven material completely waterproof.

Streetwear Trends

“Summer in Winter” – that’s the theme of Roxy’s Autumn-Winter 0809 collection. Colourful, graphic and dynamic, the Roxy collection uses layer effects and a twist on English check with lurex yarn to reconcile classic and rock styles. A fresh, feminine, young and easy-going collection, always spiced up with creative and unexpected details. The collection is based on three themes:

London Calling
A distinctively English 1980s style where re-coloured check in citrus yellow, red or electric blue meets less classic flares, colourful drainpipe pants and 100% metallic haberdashery with gold brooch and matte silver zip. The London Calling line recalls the British rock’n roll heritage with a new twist on fabrics including small checks, micro-prints and pinstripes, mixing up beige monochromes with cool English colours like green violet and blue.

Russian Dolls
Eccentric and romantic, the Roxy Girl is naturally beautiful this season: mixing a naive feminine top with masculine basics for a delicate and slightly ingenuous look. The materials are a mixture of silk, leather, fine ribbed velvet, knitwear and Scottish felt. Every detail is carefully designed: buttons covered with metallic grommets, big pockets and jackets with oversized collars, as well as a focus on romantic haberdashery with bakelite accessories in vivid citrus colours.
Not forgetting the lumberjack-style big check prints, all over romantic and naive motifs and the 60s retro-floral print.

Etno-Sport Fashionista
Chase away those winter blues with an explosion of colours and prints! An air of fantasy and freedom blows through these winter basics: army details, retro touches, ethnic overtones and a sporty feel. The Etno-Sport look follows no formula. Chic and urban, thick-knit but soft sweaters and sweater-dresses in patchwork of nordic jacquard, 100% fake fur parka re-coloured in yellow or blue,1960s volumes mixed with military details are included in the range.
