Our Cooler Folio series is about what our image makers – photographers, stylists, hair and makeup people for example – do when they’re not working for us. This time we’ll introduce you to a very recent addition to the Cooler team, intern Mia. She’s already modelled for us a while ago, but her photography skills are pretty impressive too.

What kind of photography do you like?

I like all types of photography, whether it’s portrait or still life I will be interested. That’s what I love about photography, the subject could be the most simple thing in the world but a good photographer will always help you appreciate it.

Can you remember the first picture you took?

I am not sure what my first picture would have been of but it must have been of my family or of my first dog, his name was pie and he was my best friend. I still have dreams about him.

Film or digital?

I mostly shot in digital when I was studying but have always preferred film, I think because all my family photo albums are in film and the quality of the images is so beautiful. I also love waiting to have my images developed, very exciting because there is always a photo I forgot I took.

What did you study?

I studied photography, film and English.

How did you end up at Cooler?

I was introduced to the magazine last year by modelling in a roller disco themed shoot. Which was really fun, so I thought interning for Cooler would be fun too. So I got in touch with you!

Magazines or blogs?

Magazines always.

What would your dream mag be like?

A dream mag for me would either be a dedication to all things I like, puppies, flowers, films, fashion and cakes! Or a more serious one would involve clean pages with beautiful photography of all things around the world, and good paper always makes a difference I think.

Dream shoot location?

I love shooting while I’m on holiday because I feel like everything is new. So somewhere extremely exotic would be amazing.
