#TIEDYEHIGHFIVE
We wanted to know how Hannah Bailey, the creative brain behind TIE DYE HIGH FIVE, turned into the super cool colour lover she is today, here’s what she has to say:
“I love crafting and pottering about making stuff. When I was younger I didn’t think I was a creative person because I couldn’t really draw but then I found outlets such as tie dye. Accessible creativity – anyone can do it and feel good! I’ve been tie dyeing for a while now just for fun, experimenting on this and that with DYLON colour sponsoring me (brilliant!). Then last year I came up with the concept of Tie Dye High Five, to officially spread the tie dye joy to all and get people’s colourful juices flowing with pop-up tie dye workshops. I wanted to share the secret I had found and I love talking about tie dyeing so it all kickstarted from there. Since then I’ve been all over the place colourfully high five-ing all sorts of things, with all sorts of people – from the mountains to the sea, events to brand projects, to skate parks and jams… I’ve popped up with my bountiful colours and creative guidance.
Since the start there has been a photo blog and #TieDyeHighFive to document the colour revolution. But earlier this month I launched Tie Dye High Five: The Store, so that anyone, anywhere could join in at home. Buying tie dye is cheating, it’s about getting DIY so I developed tie dye packs in 3 varieties.
Tie Dye’s not just a trend, it’s for life. Well until it fades and you have to make a new one…”
