Hi Guys,
I’m stoked at the moment! I have just returned from the World Freestyle Championships in Italy. I was part of a small team, only 2 people representing Great Britain. My team mate Angus Morrison also competed in Ski Cross and finished 35th.
I managed to set a new record to be the first Brit to make the Ski Cross finals at the World Champs, I placed 16th in the end, a great result for my first World Champs. I was so pleased all my hard work paid off. It’s been a difficult season with weather conditions and not receiving any support from my governing body, so I have to fund everything myself. Therefore I would like to say a special Thank you to my family and sponsors Animal, Atomic, Futur-3 and Less Bounce.
The World Champs course was pretty extreme with long fast technical sections and 40 metre jumps, making it very difficult and hospitalizing 5 athletes. I was nervous for the race having crashed in the training but I new I had to show I could do it and skied strong in the race, getting a great result.
I’m having a few days recovery now, and then I’m off to Laax, Switzerland for the Brits National Champs where I will be defending my title.
Will speak soon, and let you know how I get on!
