Notes drift on the warm French breeze, the thermals tickling the skies in this seaside city on the Emerald Coat. Lapping up on Brittany’s golden shores is this year’s Summer Collection at La Route Du Rock, boasting a playful little line-up including Mogwai, Electrelance, The Kills, Blonde Redhead, Battles, Cults, Dirty Beaches, Okkervil River and Fancois and the Atlas Mountains.
Each element of the festival is slightly different with music in the formidable surrounds of the eighteenth century castle Fort of St. Pere to an auditorium on the seaside to a handful of free gigs on the downtown bonobo beach. Let the salted air of north-west France mingle with the notes and transform this already magnificent walled port into a paradise for all the senses.
