Wilderness
From August 7, UK
This sweet little festival, set along the water’s edge in the faded pinks and oranges of the mid-summer sun, is perfect if you’re looking for something to let your inner beast out to chill. Where better than at a rather spectacular midnight masked ball, run in collaboration with the Old Vic Tunnels, in the middle of a magical wild weekend (and a secret location you have to track down).
Wilderness festival is where the arts melt into music under a canopy of softly lit trees as those adorned with feathered headdresses dance next to flickering fires and someone else grabs a rope swing into the river, while another searches for the way to the book shop.
There is so much packed into the beautiful space at Cornbury Park including: Hot tubs! A lakeside spa! Banquets with a wild food theme! Bushcraft skills! Lectures in Astrophysics from Oxford Dons! Poetryslams! Ghost stories! Astronomy with the Royal Observatory! Guerilla Science talks! Yotam Ottolenghi’s food! Oh and some music too, from such artists as: Rodrigo y Gabriela, Willy Mason, Field Music and Crystal Fighters.
