Back in OZ

It’s been a while since I posted my last blog and seeing as I’m currently on the other side of the world I thought it would be a good time to post an update! I’ve been back in Australia for about 2 months now, living on the Sunny Coast again and riding at Bli Bli Cable Park. I’m having the best fun, although it literally hasn’t stopped raining for the whole of January. It’s been really windy too, so the lake’s been pretty choppy! But I can’t really complain… the water’s still super warm and I’m sitting here writing this on the beach, wearing a bikini.

To keep myself going while out here I’ve been working in the reception at the cable, which is awesome as I get to ride for free and also in the Wake Café just next to the lake, run by my mate Jenn! So yeh, I’ve pretty much been flipping burgers and making milkshakes in between riding and chilling… sweet. Not much else to report really other than I’ve now landed the trick I broke my ankle on so am pretty stoked about that and I just got all my new ’08 kit from O’Brien, so excited about that too. I’m now riding the O’Brien ‘Natural’ board with ‘Plush’ bindings and really love it. Oh… and I’ve also been wakeskating a bit too, so will keep you posted on how that goes!

I’ve popped up a few pics we shot the other week. Since my trip here last year the guys at the cable have built some sick new obstacles… a c box and a long a-frame with a flat bar at the front, so we’ve been having loads of fun sessioning them.

As for my plans for the next few weeks… This weekend I’m going boat riding with all the girls from O’Brien/LiquidForce over here (could be interesting seeing as I’ve only ever ridden once behind the boat @ home)! Next weekend I’m meeting up with a friend from home in Sydney. And the following weekend we’re hopefully planning a trip to Stoney Park where you mostly ride behind a Jet Ski and hit loads of rails.

I’ll try to post some pics and write a blog on how I get on this weekend… so excited!! But ‘til then, I hope the European winter isn’t too miserable and that there’s lots of snow in the mountains for everyone out snowboarding. Steph : )
