Since witnessing the girls ripping the park course at the X Games last year in Barcelona, we’ve always known the level of skating to be RAD. But sometimes it takes something extra special to wake up the rest of the world to it. And here is that extra specialness from the Van Doren Invitational women’s bowl contest on Tuesday!! As the Thrasher post says: ‘If this doesn’t get hyped then you may as well be dead.’.
Things were next level last year, but it’s genuinely gone off the chart for women’s skateboarding this time around. Banger after banger after banger from Nora’s feeble grind, Allysha’s boneless, Alana’s air to fakie… It’s silly to list them all, so just check out the edit which made us freak out.
Major props to Lizzie Armanto who was back on a board after being injured all year. Looking more than back to tip top form, she is amazing! And big shout out to Mimi Knoop for making the comp happen, pushing to give women’s skate a platform as it sooooo obviously deserves!
