Remember when Amelia’s Magazine was still available in print? We were obsessed with the super lovely paper and innovative print techniques. Can’t really think of any other mag that did a scratch and sniff, a holographic AND a glow in the dark cover, plus threw in some laser cutting and glitter for good measure. And then there were the beautiful illustrations of course, colourful and otherworldly…
Well, we’re happy to announce that Amelia’s Magazine will be back in print for a very special 10th birthday edition!
As our discerning readers might already have guessed, the new Amelia’s won’t just look like any old mag, it’ll be a limited edition gold foiled artists’ book. And for the aspiring art collectors among us there will also be an exclusive series of A2 limited edition art prints with real gold leaf.
The best thing has got to be the theme though, That Which We Do Not Understand. So it’s all about voodoo, mysticism, folklore, tarot, the moon… our dreamy dark side can’t wait.
The illustrations shown here are sneak peeks from the new gold foiled book and – top to bottom, left to right – by Daria Hlazatova, Mateusz Napieralski, Adam Corns, Liv Bargman, Essi Kimpimaki and Karin Soderquist.
And in case you were wondering why we’re working at 11pm on a Sunday night… The new issue is being crowd funded via Kickstarter. The guys are almost there, but it’s only four more days, so check it out now! Apart from the brand new limited edition book, rewards include rare back issues, books, hand screen printed t-shirts, postcards and art prints.
