Burgers
Burgers
Homemade burgers are super easy to make and are so much better for you than shop bought burgers, particularly the frozen ones!
This is just a basic recipe but you can add extra spices and ingredients, such as paprika, ginger, chillies or mustard, and the list goes on!
You can even use the pizza dough recipe above to make your own buns for the ultimate homemade burger.
You will need:
A 500g pack of minced beef – this will lake 4 – 6 burgers depending on how big you want them to be.
1 egg
1 onion
1 clove of garlic
Mixed herbs – add as much or as little as you like but a heaped dessert spoon will make the beef nice
and fragrant.
Olive oil (a few glugs)
Salt and pepper
Burger trimmings such as: a fried egg, gherkins, pineapple, bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce, ketchup, barbeque sauce, and anything else you can put on a burger.
To Make
To start with, crush your garlic clove and finely chop the onion, you can even grate it to make it super fine (if the pieces are too big, they won’t cook enough in the burger).
Transfer to a bowl and mix all the rest of the ingredients together with your hands. Once everything is combined, gently mould in to burger shapes.
You can store them in the fridge for up to a day (if you do this make sure to cover them in olive oil so they don’t get dry) or cook straight away.
Fry on a medium heat for about 4 minutes on each side, oruntil they’re cooked to your liking, then add all your favourite burger trimmings and enjoy!
